Flood in Pakistan and Non Serious Attitude of developed countries

Recent devastating floods in Pakistan have shaken it completely. People lost the meager resources at their disposal. Home of millions of people is underwater in areas of interior Sindh and Baluchistan completely. In some estimates, hundreds of people lost their lives and billions of properties have been damaged. The Climate Catastrophe brought unimaginable suffering to the people. Months of unprecedented rains ended in record-breaking floods which can be guessed from the situation that even after passing more than 20 days the water still stands in villages and cities, and road and railway links are still damaged and out of service.

These types of Climate-induced disasters do not come alone they always bring with them other related problems. such as, Health crisis is one of them. Hospitals are running out of critical emergency medicines. Waterborne diseases are spreading rapidly and causing deaths in threatening ways. People have been waiting days for critical medicines so their loved ones could be saved. alone in Sindh province, hundreds of children have been impacted severely by their undernourishment. The government has been unable to step up and provide relief to people as it does not have that much capability to deal with that scale of the disaster. International donors' snailed pace relief funding is threatening the lives of the vulnerable.

Millions of children are out of school, and they are facing irreversible losses in their education. Schools have been wiped out due to torrential rains and aftermath flooding. Reconstructions on a war footing are needed otherwise these children who are supposed to lead the world towards a better future would be an unwanted burden on the world.

According to some reports, Pakistan has an insignificant role in carbon emissions but because of the industrialization greed of developed countries, it is expected to witness such disasters more frequently than usual. The warnings which were issued time by time if headed the catastrophes today world is facing could have been avoided. the madness of fossil fuels blinded the developed countries and they become unable to take initiatives to restore the climate situation to normal levels.

The UN Chief rightly mentioned that now it's time to pay back, it is the time for Climate Justice otherwise global discontent and anger would be unleashed and the fragile international system would not sustain the impacts of such discontent.
