KARACHI INCIDENT

Sindh Police Chief pressurized to issue arrest warrants of PML-N Leader Capt-Safdar without following any due procedure which caused institutional demoralization. This incident exposed how our system works and how some institutions cross their constitutional defined limits because of some irrational justifications. These attempts would put longstanding impacts on the performance of law enforcement agencies if it has not helped to recover from demoralization. Police institutions of other provinces would also feel the same pressure but in an undisclosed manner which ultimately would hamper their performance too. Police Force always suffered because of rifts within the political structure of our country, such as crossing by the institutional defined roles and interfering or hampering the smooth disposal of affairs of other institutions. This circle of political uncertainty and institutional dysfunctionality should now end immediately otherwise we may lose a force that sacrificed too much in the war against terrorism in Pakistan. Political and establishment leadership must ensure this thing before it demoralizes the whole institution. This breach of provincial force's jurisdiction caused panic among the ranks of Sindh Police because such open use of pressure against any force by the establishment is unprecedented.
