Domestic violence emerged as the one of most immediate threat to the country's vulnerable community which further intensified by the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the most recent case of domestic violence is from AJk where a man killed his fiancée after a heated debate with her, signs of strangulation were apparent in her neck; Pakistan witnessed a significant increase in cases of domestic violence during the ongoing year mainly because of lock-down in country to contain the further spread of pandemic and resulting in uncontrolled scenario for the health managers of country. It showed that the concerns of global indicators proved right that the domestic violence can go beyond normal numbers in those countries where gender discrimination is rampant and equality is nonexistence. loss of precious lives is out of question because of negligence. The important questions are raised in various demonstrations throughout the country, some of those questions are these,

How the perpetrators freely roaming in even after committing such vicious crimes.

Why law and enforcement agencies are not developing efficient strategies to counter the domestic violence culprits.

Legislation is weak, why legislators failed to build consensus among the various political parties to legislate comprehensive law which efficiently create the deterrence for such crimes through punishing criminals without any delays.

Pakistani women diaspora has significantly showed to their counterparts that they too have ability to play major developmental roles for the nation if proved with sufficient space and recognition. The lack of equal opportunities and gender segregation hindered them from utilizing their full potential. Domestic violence and intolerance for the females generated the fear among the women about their future and create the unnecessary sense of discrimination. Government officials have promised to ensure that the violence against women is unacceptable but their lack of ability to practically enforce such promises is worrying. For the better future of Pakistani nation it is imperative for the state to utilize its might for the betterment of women and remove the intolerance and discrimination from society through well calibrated policy.
